Linking a New PTLevel Transmitter to Your Existing PTLevel Receiver

Linking a New Transmitter to Your Existing Receiver and/or Resetting Zero Pressure

If you have an existing Receiver and have received a new Transmitter, you will need to link these devices so they can "talk" to each other.  (If you have a Transmitter and get a new Receiver, please go to the bottom of this article for additional information).

Finding Your PTLevel IP Address

For Linking a new transmitter or resetting a new zero pressure reading, you will need your PTLevel's IP address.  This can be found very easily!
First, log in to your PTLevel online account at ptdevices.com or log into your app. Click on Features (on a mobile device it could look like 3 small dots in the top right corner of the device). It is the purple link in this picture below for desktops, and on the right is an image of a mobile version.

After clicking Features, you will brought to your device main screen.  Here you can calibrate, check your history, and in this case find your device IP address. We have circled the IP address below in red. Once you have your IP address, you can follow the linking steps below.

Linking a New Transmitter:

Watch the video above or follow these simple instructions. For the PTLevel Wireless to work properly, the Receiver and the Transmitter need to be linked together. When you get a new PTLevel Wireless, they will come linked.  In the rare case you need a replacement Receiver or Transmitter, you would follow these steps to link them together.

  1. With a phone, tablet, or computer that is on the same WiFi network, go to the device IP address followed by /config, a sample is: http://xxx.xxx.x.xx/config
  2. You should be able to see a "Link Mode" option on the bottom or top of that page. Click "Link Mode".
  3. Press the "Connect" button on the transmitter and you should see the transmitter status LED blink 7 times quickly. If you press the button again, the Transmitter will blink 3 times slowly.
  4. Your devices are now linked!

Resetting Zero:

The PTLevel measures your water depth by reading the pressure of the water.  Your PTLevel will be sent to you with it’s zero pressure reading already set.  In the rare case you need to reset your zero pressure reading, follow the steps below.

  1. With a phone tablet or computer that is on the same WiFi network, go to the device IP address followed by /config, a sample is: http://xxx.xxx.x.xx/config
  2. Ensure the weight and tubing is not in water and that there is no water stuck in the tubing. Remember, you want to reset your zero pressure reading when it is reading zero pressure.
  3. You should be able to see a "Reset Zero" option on the bottom of that page. Please click that link.
  4. Press the "Connect" button on the transmitter and you should see the transmitter status LED blink 7 times quickly. Then press the "Connect" button once more and it should blink three times slowly.
  5. Replace the tubing and setup into the tank, hit the "Connect" button, do one more calibration and hit the "Connect" button one last time.

Adding a New Receiver:

In the event you have an existing Transmitter and need to add a new Receiver, you'll need to complete 2 steps. The first is connecting the receiver to your WiFi network and the second is linking your transmitter to it. Both steps are explained below for our new-style Receivers (that have a button on the front).
1. Add your Receiver just like you would a brand new device. (Log into your app and click "Setup Device". (https://support.paremtech.com/portal/en/kb/articles/wifi-connection-procedure)
2. The App (on Android or iOS) will walk you through step-by-step through the WiFi connection process.
3. Since there is no transmitter linked to your Receiver, you'll have to press "Access Locally" once you'll successfully gone through the connection process. See image below.

4. When you are Locally Accessing your device, follow the instructions to put the Receiver in Link Mode. Through this panel you can remove transmitters, add transmitters, and access other Receiver Settings. Once in link mode, press the transmitter button. When it blinks once and then flashes 7 times quickly you will know it is connected. Press the transmitter button one more time to have it report in (it will blink 3 times slower when it reports in).
